Like Free Stuff? Go See Coffee Memorial Blood Center In January.

As we are solidly entrenched in the new year here in Texas, some things don't change. We make our resolutions, we try to stick to them, some of us have already blown them. However, there's one resolution we should all make in the new year, and that is to help others.

One way we can help others is by giving blood. It's one of the most critical life saving things we can do for others. You never know who may be in need of it. It could be your neighbor, your co-worker, even a family member.

2023 was just an ok year when it came to donating blood in Amarillo. For most of the year, the blood supply was low, even reaching critical stages at some points. We can't let that happen again in 2024.

That's why Coffee Memorial Blood Center is doing everything they can to get 2024 kicked off in the right direction. To give you an idea of how much blood is needed in order to maintain an adequate blood supply in the city, CMBC needs 1,200 PER DAY to keep the levels up. I know, it seems like a lot of people, and don't get me wrong, it is. When you break it down however, it's not that many people. We're talking LESS than 1% of the population of Amarillo per day.

Broken out over the course of 31 days, it totals up to a bit over 18% of the population that needs to donate blood on a monthly basis. It really isn't as big as it sounds.

So in true CMBC fashion, they're incentivizing you a bit to come in and donate during the month of January. They've got these really cool glow in the dark shirts they're giving you just for coming in to donate. You'll also receive a free entry to win tickets to Escape The Trap House.
