If you haven't driven around Amarillo you may not notice the changes. The Buc-ee's is coming along. They have walls. It's a step in the right direction. We still have time.

We are getting another Chick-fil-A. Amarillo is growing. As much as it changes we also like when things stay the same. We like having our favorites. We love having that comfort place to stop for a refreshing snack.

We recently started to worry about Cool Cats Snow Cone Stand. I mean first, there was the worry because an Exxon is supposed to be built in its location at 27th and Osage. So we were worried about that outcome.

Then we found out that the original owner Billy Wall passed away late last year. So we had genuine concern. Then the snow cone stand went missing. It was just gone. Luckily we heard from the new owner, Sandy Molina.

She assured us that even though the snow cone stand was missing it was going to open. Oh, and it did. They got a new snow cone stand but everything else about it is the same. It is still Cool Cats.

It is still in the same location for now. Hopefully, it will stay that way. The Exxon is in no big hurry to build. So it will not change this season. So that is good news.

The snow cone stand, Cool Cats, is owned by Sandy. She has owned it for the past two years. This is her first year not having Billy around as a mentor. That is the toughest part about it. He was always around or a phone call away.

It's a new beginning and a new building for Cool Cats. They are there like they always have been and they are open.
