Over the weekend, Amarillo was a pretty busy place. Some of us are getting ready to get kids back in school. Others were trying to soak up the last bit of summer we've got.

Some Amarillo officers were given the opportunity to participate in a very special ceremony and celebration.

It Was A Beautiful Moment APD Shared With The Karen Community

It was a two day celebration. Included was the Wrist Tying ceremony and Martyr's Day celebration. Officers from the Amarillo Police Department were invited to be a part of it all.

On social media, APD posted photos and detailed the event that took place August 13 and 14.

This is where the "comedians" and "concerned citizens" open their mouths to feast on their feet.

Amarillo, Some Of Us Can And Should Do Better

Reading through the comments on an otherwise wonderful moment captured on social media, you can't help but come across those among us that can't seem to get over their craving for how their own foot tastes.

As APD was quick to point out, the Karen community in Amarillo is made up of refugees.

It boggles the mind, frankly, how anyone could want to take this post and try to turn it into some kind of forum for debate. That's not what this was about.

How insanely selfish do you have to be to turn this into an attention seeking moment for yourself?

Luckily, the comments are full of wonderful people who were more than willing to educate those who were ignorant of the facts. Before you make that joke on social media, make sure you know what you're talking about.
