It seems every year we all engage in a debate on when it is too early for Christmas. According to one event I found coming up this weekend, October isn't too early to be holly-jolly.

This weekend the "Christmas in October Gift and Craft Show" will be taking place. If tricks and treats aren't your thing, this might be the party you're looking for.

On the event's Facebook page, they're saying there will be somewhere around 90 vendors on site. That's a lot of gifts and crafts. Plus, there's going to be a bake sale.

Personally, I think it is definitely too early for Christmas. We haven't even sent kids out panhandling for candy yet. I can wait on yuletide cheer.

That doesn't mean I'm insensitive to the fact that some people just prefer Christmas and wish that it was all year instead of the 2-3 months that we give it. To each his/her own.

Also, the event is tied to a good cause. Even more reason a person can't be totally upset that we're having Christmas this early.

The event benefits the Sharing Hope Ministry, which sends Bibles and devotionals to women who are incarcerated, or in rehabilitation in all 50 states. According the event description, Sharing Hope is a local non profit.

If ghosts and ghouls aren't what you're into, and you prefer sugar plums and caroling, then this might be something worth checking out.

You can get all the details on the event by going to their Facebook event page here.
