It's time to enjoy the holiday season with a little bit of history and a ton of holiday fun.  The Christmas Open House at the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum is back and it's an affordable event for the entire family.

The PPHM makes it easy to enjoy the holidays, in fact you have two chances to attend the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum Christmas Open House.  If you're having fun you can attend both days.

Friday, December 1st from 6-9pm or Saturday December 2nd from 1-5pm

Cost: One canned food item per person for the High Plains Food Bank or a monetary donation

The PPHM has been collecting food for the High Plains Food Bank during their Christmas Open House for 5 years and it is one of the largest single events that collects for for the HPFB.

Step back into the 1890's in Pioneer Town as role players show you what Christmas was like back in the day.Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there and ready to meet the kids and add their requests to his list, in the Hazlewood Lecture Hall.  Down in the basement the kid will get to make some really cool Christmas crafts.  Plus, venture into the Petroleum Theater and listen to Christmas stories in front of a crackling fire then make your way into the Derrick Room for children's choirs and lots of entertainers.
