Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. There's nothing better than going to some small restaurant and enjoying the start to my day. Here are the best places for breakfast around Amarillo.

Ranch House Cafe - Canyon

Ranch House reminds me of home. In the small town I grew up in, the nearest big chain restaurants were a half-hour away. My favorite spots have always been small town diners.

At Ranch House, I usually get biscuits and gravy with sausage, eggs, and hashbrowns. My wife and I split one of their massive pancakes. It's also a favorite for my kids.

Golden Waffle Company - Amarillo

While their Facebook page mentions brunch a lot, I still love stopping by this place for the waffles. The waffles are great, and there is honestly a lot on the menu. Definitely worth checking out.

Ye Olde Pancake Station - Amarillo

Another good old fashioned diner/cafe style restaurant where you get a breakfast that fills you up and sticks to your ribs. This is another one that my kids love, and of course the pancakes are great.

English Field House - Amarillo

You know a place has great breakfast when they don't have a big fancy website to promote themselves with. English Field House is tucked away near the airport. So unless you're headed to catch a flight, it might be just a little out of the way. However, it is totally worth it.

Butterlove Biscuits

Here is another place that advertises "brunch," but let's just call it what it really is...breakfast for people who sleep in. I love biscuits, and pretty much everything on the menu includes biscuits. Everything I've tried on the menu has been pretty good, and it is really filling.
