Lubbock and the surrounding area have several wonderful farmer's markets, and farmer's market season is starting to really sprout this time of year.

Whether you are a fan of the seasonal Lubbock Downtown Farmer's Market or the year-round Wolfforth Farmer Market, or any of the other wonderful markets in this area, you're sure to find the freshest produce, and perhaps other delicious items like local honey, meats, eggs, garden plants and more. It's a lovely experience I enjoy very much.

Sadly, we are losing a very long-standing option with the closure of Sunburst Market (1511 County Rd 7140,), which provided our area with produce and other goods for 50 years. From their Facebook page:

We at Sunburst Market would like to take this time to Thank our Sunburst family for 50 years of a great harvest. With great sadness but full trust in the Lord, we have decided as a family that it is time to pluck up that which has been planted.

This family-operated business will also host an "estate" sale with a large number of various items including decorations, furniture, farming tools, and more during the following dates/ times:

Our Sunburst Market estate sale will be held Sun April 23rd 1pm -5pm and Mon April 24th through Sat April 29th 9-5pm ending on Sunday April 30th 1- 4pm.

I truly hope this family has amazing success in their future endeavors.

If you have not yet taken advantage of our other area farmer's markets, I encourage you to do so. Our support can ensure that these farmers and producers can continue to deliver the freshest and most nutritious local foods to our tables. And in return, you'll get an absolutely lovely shopping experience with the best goods this area has to offer.
