What’s Next in Amarillo’s Busy Summer

On July 26, 2025, there are going to be cardboard boat races in Amarillo, Texas. It's an all-ages event that Amarillo Parks and Rec is putting on, and it sounds like a lot of fun.

For the event, you'll need to gather a crew and get really creative. You'll need to build a boat using nothing but cardboard and duct tape. Once your boat is built, you'll test it on the waters of South East Pool.

How to Build Your Cardboard Boat

The cardboard boat races will be held from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the pool, and registration is $10. You can visit the Amarillo Parks and Recreation website to register. Registration ends July 21.

The boat that comes in first will receive a prize. There is also an award for the best decorated, and something called the "Titanic Award." I bet you can figure that one out using your imagination.
