Rain On Our Parade: More 2023 Events Canceled In Amarillo

We caught wind that Borger's big Beach Bash was going to be canceled for 2023 because of issues with the sand and the rain. Now, it seems like we're seeing more cancellations rolling in.

I have a feeling we're going to be seeing more of these announcements in the coming days. The rain has been falling, and continues to fall.

A Lot Of Rain, In A Really Short Time

I don't know if you saw this on their announcement or not, but the track has been the recipient of around 10 inches of rain in two weeks. That's a lot of rain.

Fingers crossed things dry out soon enough to have upcoming events.

I spent time digging into forecasts earlier today, and it doesn't look like we're going to see many days without chances for rain. It's the Texas panhandle, so anything is possible. I'm hoping for a break so things can settle before we get anymore turd floaters.

Get on Facebook for five minutes and you'll see videos of flooding all over the area. Parts of Canyon have been flooding. There have been reports of road closures in several different areas because of flooding during the showers and storms.

While you hate to hear about events being canceled, you do have to appreciate everyone being safe.

That being said, if you do find yourself out there during the downpours be sure to travel safe. As we're being constantly reminded right now, turn around don't drown, and stay out of the Canadian River.
