Major Lane Closures Hit Amarillo Roads This Week
It's one of the things that we absolutely hate in Amarillo, yet we seem to have to deal with it constantly. Road construction. Yes, it's annoying. It takes away routes for us to go somewhere, slows us down an immense amount, and is just generally annoying.
However, the construction is necessary, especially for the way Amarillo is growing day by day. Our roads are an unmitigated mess, especially in some places. We've seen I-27 go through a lot of work recently, and it's still going on. However, other roads need work, and there will be some this week that you need to be aware of.

Several Lane Closures This Week
We can expect things to be a little bit slow in various areas of the city this week, especially the loop. That one will be the most annoying, especially since it kicks down to one lane on each side already. There will be various lane closures along SL 335 spanning from I-40 to I-27 as they do some crack seal operations.
On Tuesday, January 20, and Wednesday, January 21, we can expect some slow down on Western St. from Amarillo Blvd. all the way to SL 335, also for some crack seal operations.
Other Closures To Be Aware Of
There are a few others to be aware of this week, a little further out from the main travelled roads, but still could cause some issues for you. I-40 will be closed at Pullman Rd. if you're headed westbound. There will be a detour available.
You'll be down a lane from Hope Road to Adkisson Road on westbound I-40 as the right lane will be shut down for some edge work.
