Every now and then we get a little bit of excitement here in Amarillo. No, I'm not talking about some crazy crime that's committed or anything like that. Celebrities have a tendency to drop in from time to time.

The stars of Yellowstone and its spinoff shows were spotted not too long ago, stars like Tim McGraw and his wife Faith Hill. Who can forget when Will Ferrell rolled through town and sat down to try the 72 oz. steak challenge at Big Texan?

Well yesterday, I saw someone roll through town, and for the first time in my life, I was disappointed I had to run a baseball practice. See, I'm an R&B and hip-hop kid. Love the music, been listening to it since the early 90s.

There are some artists and groups that are simply iconic and transform the sound of a genre. One of those groups in the 90s was Outkast. They put the south on the map with their style and flow, and continued to evolve into one of the most important acts in hip-hop history.

Yesterday, one half of that iconic group, Andre 3000, was strolling around and doing a little shopping on 6th St. I've met the other half of Outkast, Big Boi, before and Andre 3000 would've completed that one for me.

As you can see here, he stopped in an antique shop and nabbed a drum and a suitcase while he was in town, and also stopped in at High Fidelity Records, presumably to to a little wax shopping.

The question quickly turned to what exactly was he doing in Amarillo? I mean, it's not exactly a hot spot for celebs to drop in. Andre 3000 is on tour at the moment and was passing through the city on his way to the next tour stop.

Several people were lucky enough to get pics and an autograph from him, and all accounts say he was super nice and spent time with everyone.
