Are You Ready To Look Inside Some Historic Amarillo Buildings?
Amarillo is a city full of older, historic buildings. We marvel at the way they look and the intricate work that goes into them.
Very different from these "cookie cutter" buildings we get to see these days. Nothing can replace things such as the columns that were constructed on many of these buildings.

A lot of these buildings though aren't open to the public. Sometimes artifacts and things that were inside the building initially are still there. The items inside, just like the building, are true antiques.
But many people will never get to see what's inside. With the buildings closed to the public, we will never know what is inside them.
That's all about to change.
Center City of Amarillo is all set to give tours of two very historic buildings in the city, and I can't wait to see what they look like on the inside.

On Saturday, May 3rd, they'll be giving tours of the Mary E. Bivins Library building and the former Texas Panhandle Centers location. Both of these buildings are located on Polk, and I've driven past them several times.
Beth Duke, the executive director of Center City said,
“We are so excited to show off these historic properties. These buildings are great examples of Amarillo history. Now they can have a new life,”
Now, I'm not sure what that new life is, but I'm excited for it. Maybe this is just the first of many tours to come, but I want to be one of the first to see inside them.
The tours will happen at 9 am and 10 am, but you have to register for the tours, you can't just show up. If you want to be a part of them, you can sign up by clicking here. Each tour will last approximately one hour.
