Well believe it or not, Halloween is starting to ramp up in Amarillo. We're still a good five weeks out from the holiday, but that isn't stopping people from getting geared up with their ghouls and goblins.

Decorations have started to pop up in certain neighborhoods, the bags of candy for trick or treating are already littered around every store that sells candy in Amarillo, and Halloween themed events are starting to be advertised.

Well, we personally love all the different types of Halloween events, from family friendly, to adults only. That's why I wanted to make sure I left a few here for you so you can begin your planning for a month of fun.

BOO AT THE ZOO

We start off with a family friendly one that is a fan favorite every year in the 806. Boo At The Zoo is back for two nights at the Amarillo Zoo. Happening October 13th and 14th, from 6 to 9 pm each night, it's sure to deliver on a night of fun, and fright.

Halloween-themed activities, some costumed characters, as well as crafts, games, and of course, fun with the animals will all be happening at the event, which you can buy tickets for here.

FRITE NITE PARTY

Happening the evening of October 13th, Rap Amarillo brings you the Frite Nite Party. The event happens from 9 pm to midnight, and will feature live music from Amarillo rappers and pop artists. There will also be a DJ spinning and a costume contest that will be held.

The event will take place at a warehouse at 1107 N Grant St, will cost you $10 to get into, and is a BYOB event.

AMARILLO'S LARGEST TRUNK OR TREAT

One of the newest, and most popular events around Halloween, are these trunk or treats, and the biggest one is set to happen on October 28th. The event will be held at Contagion Athletics found at 8210 West Amarillo Blvd and is going to have everything the kiddos could possibly want.

Face painting, a haunted house, bouncy house, games, and yes, candy...lots of it. There will also be a car show as well as a hot dog eating contest if you feel like channeling your inner Joey Chestnut. It'll be going on from 6-9 pm.

DRUNKEN FRIGHT NIGHT

Just based on the title you know this is an adults only soiree. Happening at the Drunken Oyster on October 28th, this event will feature up some live music, great drink specials, and they'll have the obligatory costume contest. The contest will pay out $100 to someone at midnight, so at least someone will get to cover their bar tab.

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
