Potato Factory Randomly Under New Ownership
Quite the saga has been unfolding in Amarillo with one of its most beloved restaurants, and things took an even stranger turn this weekend.
If you haven't been keeping up on what's happening with the Potato Factory, you either aren't paying attention to the news or you live under a rock.

What Happened At the Potato Factory
There is still a lot being unpacked here with what happened, but in a nutshell, a phone was found in the bathroom at the restaurant.
No, not someone just losing a phone. It's been presumed the phone was there doing things it shouldn't be doing. The presumption is that the phone was getting inappropriate videos and/or pictures.

Are Amarillo Police Involved
As of right now, it's understood the police are indeed involved, however, we don't have true confirmation that's a fact. The talk though is that Amarillo Police are looking into what happened with the phone.
So there are no criminal charges for anyone yet, and truthfully, there is nothing concrete for us to go on yet. It's all pure speculation right now as to what the phone was doing in there.
What Are The Latest Developments In Amarillo
That's where things take a weird turn. A sign popped up on the door of the beloved Potato Factory saying "Pending New Ownership - Will Re-open Monday".
There weren't any signs that the restaurant was for sale...anywhere. No posts, no listing, nothing. All of a sudden, the restaurant is sold shortly after "Potatogate" got underway.
Do We Know Who The New Owner Is
Unfortunately, no, we don't. There has been literally zero publicity around who may have purchased the restaurant or what spurred what may be the quickest and most random sale in Amarillo business history.
The restaurant should be back open today for everyone to enjoy their loaded-up potatoes, but the mystery remains as to what exactly is happening with the Potato Factory.
