As Amarillo continues to grow, so do new businesses. Anywhere you look in Amarillo, you'll see new housing, businesses, and communities popping up. That doesn't even include the massive amount of additional traffic in the area.

However, it's good to see the growth coming to our city. It's always fun to see new businesses opening, bringing more choices to residents. It's even better when it's something to eat.

A New Addition to Town Square Village

Something new is moving into the Town Square Village area and bringing some sweet treats to the neighborhood. Sweet Boba Tea and Dessert Lounge is coming to Town Square Blvd.

The Timeline for Amarillo's Newest Sweet Spot

According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Sweet Boba Tea and Dessert Lounge will be located at 888 Town Square Blvd, Suite 300. This may not be the exact address because most businesses on Town Square Blvd are in the 9100 block. Could it be 9188? That is pure speculation, but it might even be a new building separate from the main area.

The construction is expected to start this month and end in April.  The cost of construction is estimated to be $100,000. With the cost of construction, it is safe to assume this is just a remodeling of an existing building.

What is Boba?

Boba are tapioca balls used to make Boba Tea. They are tiny, chewy spheres that have a unique texture unless they are the popping version, which bursts and releases a favored liquid. Boba Tea is also known as Bubble Tea, or milk tea.  This tea originated in Taiwan in the 80s and has recently become popular in Amarillo over the last few years.

Amarillo has about 10 different places where you can order Boba Tea.  However, this place will not only offer boba, but also a variety of dessert items.

It'll be a great addition to Amarillo, satisfying the sweet tooth of residents.
