
Parad-Ice Grand Opening: Taste the Sweet Legacy in Amarillo
One thing we can all agree on is that treats are awesome! Amarillo is full of places that offer great treats, whether it’s a drink or a dessert. Most treats are best when sweet, and even though you can find many places for a sweet treat, there is a new place in Amarillo that you have to try.
Back in March 2025, we shared the story and dream of Juan Carlos Solorio, who is continuing his family’s legacy of serving up delicious paletas, ice cream, and agua frescas in Amarillo. That dream was Parad-Ice.
Where Did Parad-Ice Get Its Start?
The Solorio family’s journey began in the 1950s in Tocumbo, Michoacán, Mexico, where Juan Carlos’s great-grandfather started the business. Now, nearly 75 years later, that tradition of ice cream and paleta perfection lives on in Amarillo. His great-grandfather taught his grandfather, his grandfather taught his father, his father taught him, and now he’s passing that craft on to his own son.

It's finally happening! Parad-Ice is open in Amarillo! The shop is located at 3429 S. Osage; it joins La Bella Pizza, Great Clips, and M&R Liquor.

Parad-Ice will be serving up delicious sweet treats, including multiple flavors of ice cream, paletas, drinks, ramen, and more.
When Did Parad-Ice Open in Amarillo?
Parad-Ice opened on October 22, 2025, which means you can stop by now and try them out. You are sure to find something you love, and if you can't choose what you want, you can always stop by over and over.
They are having their Grand Opening and official ribbon cutting with the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, October 28. The ribbon cutting will take place at 4 pm.
