The Station Between Amarillo and Canyon Changed Ownership: What Replaced the Local Favorite??
Back in 2021, a new addition opened up on McCormick off I-27. It brought convenience to the area as well as a place to stop between Amarillo and Canyon to fuel up, grab a snack, and use the restroom.
The Station
The Station opened in August 2021 at 7200 McCormick Rd. It was a convenience store created by the owners of the Eskimo Hut. The Station was the perfect stop for fuel, food (they have some of the best brisket burritos), and clean restrooms. Not only that, you could also pick up one of those Eskimo Hut daiquiris, Jello shots, and gummies. Plus, at the time it was the only convenience store stop between Canyon and Hollywood Road.
Something Has Changed
If you have been to The Station recently, you will have noticed a few changes. Changes that scream, it's not The Station anymore.
The Station hasn't created a Facebook post since December 17th. However, Google still shows the station as open and not permanently closed, but it seems that it may change soon. If you purchase anything you'll notice the receipts say another business name and not The Station.
Here's the bad news,
The Station Was Sold!
The former owner did let us know that they indeed sold The Station. Now that we have confirmation on a sale, what will The Station become?
Curby's Express Market
Although, the signs don't show a change yet. An ownership change was made. Plus an announcement was placed stating that Curby's Express Market located at 7200 S. McCormick Rd is requesting a Wine and Malt Beverage Permit.
Curby's Express Market is a business based out of Lubbock. According to their website,
Their Purpose: To put God first by demonstrating love and grace to all who come in contact with Curby’s, while faithfully stewarding everything in our care.
Their Promise: To elevate the guest’s experience by delivering craveable food and beverage with an unshakeable commitment to be fast & convenient.
We did reach out to Curby's Express Market for comment, but the company did not respond to our request for comment.
If you're stopping at The Station, just know you are stopping at Curby's Express Market.
