Local Vape Shop, Green Gorilla, Gets Raided By The DEA
According to reports a local vape shop, Green Gorilla Smoke & Vape Shop, was raided on Monday by the DEA. Amarillo Police department, according to reports, has confirmed the raid and that their Narcotics Unit assisted.
An attorney for Green Gorilla, Ryan Brown, is reported as stating that all of the store's CBD oils have been confiscated, along with $170,000.
According to Brown, the oils sold to Green Gorilla by Green Roads do not have any illegal substances in their products. It is legal for shops to sell CBD oil as long as it meets certain criteria. One of those being an absence of THC.
THC is the psychoactive component of cannabis that creates the "high" sensation.
Proponents of CBD oils say they have several health benefits, without the "high" associated with marijuana use.
Green Gorilla did issue a positive and optimistic message via Facebook regarding the incident.
