Lubbock Man Shot to Death Outside Chips Sports Bar
One person is dead after a late-night shooting at a local bar, and the LPD's Metro Special Crimes Unit is still searching for potential suspects.
The Lubbock Police Department said that shots were fired at about 11:54 p.m. on Tuesday night, April 6th, 2021. The shots came from outside Chips Sports Bar, located just north of 69th Street near Slide Road.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man lying in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. He was identified as 28-year-old Timothy Bailey and transported to a local hospital. Bailey did not survive his injuries.
LPD called the shooting "an isolated incident," clarifying that there was "no ongoing threat to the public."
According to witness accounts via the Lubbock Police Department's press release, Bailey got into an argument with a group of people inside the bar. The argument became so irate that Bailey and the group were asked to leave the establishment.
The argument continued outside the bar, got worse, and led to Bailey being shot multiple times. The Metro Special Crimes Unit has not yet identified any suspects or announced any arrests.
