Motley Crue Furious at ‘Bottom of the Barrel’ Documentary
Motley Crue vocalist Vince Neil and bassist Nikki Sixx have both attacked Reelz Channel’s Crue edition of Breaking the Band. The musicians claim the episode contained false information about the band’s history, namely about their 1992 breakup.
Breaking the Band’s second season premiered June 16, with Motley Crue selected to kick off the new run of episodes. Before the show aired, Vince Neil publicly hoped the show would be accurate, but after watching, it’s safe to say his expectations were not met.
Neil wrote on Instagram:
Breaking the band, fucking memories from a manager Doug Thaler who can't remember that he's the one who actually broke up the band! The band didn't break up because of me racing. It broke up because he was too much of a pussy who didn't just say, 'Hey guys, let's take a week off and come back with cooler heads.' He called me an hour later and said I was out of the band! Great management! What he didn't say was, instead of me going racing I put out a top 10 single with 'You're Invited' — oops he forgot! Then an album called 'Exposed' — oops, forgot again! No wonder he was fired shortly after.
Nikki Sixx shared his frustrations via Twitter, revealing Motley Crue had sent a cease and desist to Reelz, which was not respected. Sixx went as far as calling the TV channel “bottom of the barrel.”
Breaking the Band: Motley Crue will air once again tomorrow (June 19) on Reelz at 8PM and 11PM local time.
