Coming up at the end of the month (April 2022) there is going to be a microchip clinic hosted by Forgotten Dog League of Amarillo. The best part of it? It's free.

That's right. One of the best ways to protect your pet is yours for free on April 30.

Is There A Catch? There has to be a catch, right?

Not really. The event page states that the first 100 pets will be microchipped for free. There's the catch, if you can call it that.

The event starts at 11 AM and goes until 2 PM.

It's A Tamper Proof ID For Your Pet

Think about what's on your dog's tag. It probably has, at the very least, your address. It might also have your phone number listed on it. Your name could possibly be on it.

With the microchips, your personal information isn't broadcast for anyone to see. Also, tags break. Tags get lost. The microchip doesn't do either one of those things.

You More Than Likely Won't Need To Replace It

Microchips are made to last for the life of your pet, so you shouldn't have to worry about replacing it.

Also, it's supposedly a painless procedure for your pet. So, you shouldn't have to worry too much about it.

If you have any questions or concerns, speak with a veterinarian. They'll be able to give you all of the info you need.
