Oscar Isaac’s Touching Tribute to Carrie Fisher Comes From the Set of ‘Episode VIII’
With Carrie Fisher’s death came an overwhelming outpouring of tributes and love from her friends and co-stars. A ton of celebrities took to social media to share their grief and funny anecdotes with the rest of us, including many who had known her in a galaxy far, far away. Oscar Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron in the new Star Wars trilogy, shared a photo of Fisher and Mark Hamill on his Facebook page.
Pretty much everyone who knew her seems to agree that she was one of the funniest people they’d ever spoken to. Fisher wasn’t in The Force Awakens for very long, but she certainly had time to hang out with her co-stars. And she might have an even bigger role in the upcoming Episode VIII, for which she’d wrapped production on all of her scenes. Isaac’s photo comes straight from the set of the new Star Wars movie, which could mean that Luke and Leia might have a few scenes together. They seem to be in costume — Hamill certainly is, with his dark Jedi robes. It would be fantastic to see them back to their old tricks again, even if we have no idea how that would happen. We still don’t know how her absence is going to affect Episode IX.
Oscar Isaac also changed the profile picture of his page to a photo of Gary (who will now be living with Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd). It’s wonderful to see such an outpouring of love for Fisher, and we can only hope that she felt it while she was still around.
