[Photos] Amarillo Life A Year Ago Seemed Innocent Before Covid-19
It's funny how much life can change in a year. Here's a look back at what was going on at this time a year ago in Amarillo.

Lake Meredith Was Stocked With Over 250,000 Fish
This time last year we were all getting ready for summer to start, and Lake Meredith had just been stocked with a whole lot of fish to prepare for fishing season.
Bag Rules Were Starting To Be Enforced At Hodgetown
Last year, the Sod Poodles started their very first season in downtown Amarillo. Around this time, Hodgetown started enforcing their bag rule. If you've been to Hodgetown you know that in most cases, when you bring a bag to the park it needs to be clear.
The Bulls Had Wrapped Up A Great Season
I miss sports. Around this time we were celebrating the end to a great season from the Amarillo Bulls. Our boys went up to Minnesota to fight for the Robertson Cup. It came down to game three, and we took a tough loss. I really miss sports.
High Plains Food Bank Was Gearing Up For "Kids Cafe"
Around this time last year, news about High Plains Food Bank was all about feeding at-risk kids for the summer. This year the news has been a lot different.
They've been doing the pop-up pantry to help feed families in our area who are facing incredibly tough times right now. Earlier this month they handed out around 2,000 packs of food to local families.
Texas Was Getting Ready To Raise The Legal Age To Smoke
It's weird to think that a big health crisis in the news at this time a year ago was cigarettes. Texas was getting ready to raise the legal age to purchase tobacco products and e-cigarettes to 21.
The "patriots" on social media were cluttering up the comments over a person's right to smoke a year ago. This year, it's whether or not we should reopen Texas.
The Rock World Was Gearing Up For Rocklahoma
Rocklahoma announced their 2019 lineup around this time last year. Performances included Steel Panther, Korn, Buckcherry, and GWAR.
This year, there's not a concert to be attended pretty much anywhere, much less a multi-day festival. Even the first "fan-pod" concert adhering to social distancing guidelines had to reschedule.
ZZ Top Announced Their 'Sharp Dressed Man' Musical
Everyone was scratching their heads around this time last year over the news that ZZ Top had been working on a musical that would open in LA in 2020.
This year, we're all keeping our fingers crossed that we get to see them in Amarillo, somehow, on June 10. As I'm writing this, the concert is still listed as happening on the Amarillo Civic Center website; despite Tim Allen and Bob Dylan postponing and canceling respectively.
