The 2021 - 2022 school year is going to be starting soon. It's just around the corner. Here's when school will start and how to get ready.

First Day of School For Amarillo, Canyon, Bushland

Amarillo ISD will be kicking off the school year on Tuesday August 17, 2021. Bushland ISD kicks off on the same day.

Canyon ISD will wait an extra day, getting started on Wednesday August 18, 2021. That's one extra day that teenagers get to sleep in.

That gives us all roughly one month to get ready. If you haven't started stockpiling supplies, now would be a good time to start.

School Supply Lists Are Out For 2021-2022

If you haven't checked out the school supplies list yet, let me make it easy for you. Here's a link for the supplies list for Amarillo ISD.

If you have a child in the Canyon ISD, a Google search for your child's school will provide you with the list. They're all handled individually.

Don't Wait To Get School Supplies

The last thing you want to do is wait until the last minute to try and get school supplies. The supplies will be hard to come by, and the crowds are going to be crazy.

Start now with the things that may be hard to find as we get closer to the school year starting. Binders, color pencils, tissues, and backpacks were the items that usually gave us the most trouble when we waited until the last minute to do our shopping.

Notebooks, pencils, crayons, and things like that are easier to find; even around the start of the school year. You can wait a little longer to pick those up.

To stay on top of everything happening with the upcoming school year, be sure to follow your school district on social media to get alerts.
