When I was growing up we had a tradition of driving around town hunting for Christmas light displays. While my mother, brother, and I were searching my father would put gifts under the tree after pretending to get called in to work.

As a small kid whose dad was always getting called in to work, I was never suspicious and it worked like magic for years.

If your family has a tradition of riding around town checking out light displays, there is a map available that will help you plan your trip so you spend more time "ooh-ing" and "awww-ing" instead of aimlessly wandering.

Thanks to Reddit user u/vanmcnoodle, the map was shared to the Amarillo subreddit where I came across it. The title of the post says that they "found" the map, so I'm assuming the author is someone else entirely.

I was surprised when I clicked on the link. It's a pretty solid list of places to visit around Amarillo, Canyon, and even Pampa to see holiday light displays.

The map has roughly a little more than 40 pins in it, which means there are just over 40 places for you to go and see the holiday lights.

While not an entirely comprehensive list of places, that's still way more than enough to keep you busy for a few nights of driving around looking at light displays.

Hats off to whoever made the map, and thanks to the user on Reddit who shared it.
