Sunray Hopes T-Mobile Contest Will Fund Stadium Repairs After Recent Storms
We have had some weird weather this summer in the Amarillo area. It took forever for us to actually hit triple digits this summer, which doesn’t happen often. We got hit recently with some massive rain and hail.
The weather in the Texas Panhandle is unpredictable; you never know what you are going to get. You hope that the weather plays nice and doesn't cause too much damage. That is not the case, and it didn't happen for the folks in Sunray.
Storm Damage Shuts Down Bobcat Stadium
Recent rain caused damage in the city. One place that got hit pretty hard was the Sunray football stadium. Since the storm hit, they have been unable to use Bobcat Stadium for anything.
Home Games Moved to Comanche Stadium
Meet the Team was moved to the gym. Home football games are going to be moved to Comanche Stadium while they work on repairs. Of course, everything that is needed will take money. Luckily, this happened at a great time.
T-Mobile Contest Offers Hope for Repairs
T-Mobile hosts their Friday Night 5G Lights contest. There are over four million dollars in prizes up for grabs, including:

- 25 finalists will take home 25 grand each.
- One lucky school will win the ultimate prize: a $1 million homefield upgrade, powered by T-Mobile.

Sunray Looks to Continue Panhandle Winning Streak
The best part about this contest is that it is one where we have seen local winners. As recently as last year, Dumas High won twenty-five thousand dollars in this contest. Sunray is hoping that they can continue the streak here in the Texas Panhandle.
