One of the biggest stories coming out of Amarillo in the past few years is Buc-ee's coming to Amarillo. Nobody believed it was actually coming when it was first in the rumor stage back in early 2022.

We are getting close to realizing a dream in Amarillo. We are about to become a city with a Buc-ee's. That is huge. Once just a place we would visit when we travelled will now be in our own backyard.

Is anything a bigger story in Amarillo other than the Buc-ee's that is getting close to opening up? If there is I can't think of one off-hand. Ever since we first caught wind of the Buc-ee's coming to town that has really been the talk.

Nothing has been a bigger topic of conversation than Buc-ee's here in Amarillo. Since the moment we found out about them coming to our city we have looked for any update we can find. Once they broke ground we have been watching the progress.

This is what Amarillo has been waiting for. The news that Buc-ee's in Amarillo is officially hiring. Yes, they had started the process earlier but that was for management type. If you wanted a job like that then great you took your shot.

There are different stages of acceptance when it comes to getting a new place in Amarillo. It's kind of like the stages of grief but with the ultimate goal being a new place to shop or eat.

With all of the driving I do around Amarillo trust me I notice things. Especially things that seem to come with the status of the Buc-ees here in Amarillo. That has been the talk of the town since we first got confirmation that the most powerful beaver was coming to town.

Have you been by the new Buc-ee's location in Amarillo? If it's been a while you may be amazed how fast it is moving along. I saw a picture or two floating around social media recently so I had to go ahead and drive by.

As we make our way through the year we just know it is a matter of time before Buc-ee's moves into Amarillo. This has been a long time coming and as we get closer there is one website you need to keep an eye on.

When was the last time you drove near Airport Boulevard in Amarillo? Of course, that is the location of the new Buc-ee's. We are so patiently waiting for the opening date of February 2025. That is what we were told.

We are a little over a year away from the Buc-ees in Amarillo becoming a reality. Their groundbreaking back in October let us know that they are supposed to be open in February of 2025. Amarillo can't wait.
