I have lived in Texas for over thirty five years. It has been an interesting ride to say the least. The year I moved here was in the middle of the first six weeks of the seventh grade. If Canyon schools were like any every other school in the Panhandle we were studying Texas History.
I feel sometimes that as many trips as I take to Dallas to see my daughter and grand daughter that I can just go on autopilot. What is the fun in that though? So I challenged myself to find cool things.
It's been several years since I have actually thought about this. Being able to solve this mystery over the Christmas break made me happier than I could even express. There are things your kid says that you don't know where it came from. Has this happened to you?
I remember this place all too well. It was one of those fast, go-to places when I was pregnant with my daughter. Oh, and it was good. The mashed potatoes, the dinner rolls. Oh and I always had either the chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken.
We are dreaming already of the mashed potatoes covered in gravy. We have pumpkin pie on the mind. That green bean casserole is calling our name. If you have the plans to travel for Thanksgiving this year there are good time and not so good times.
For those of us in our 40's, the 90's were our prime time. Saved By The Bell, Super Nintendo, Big Bopper Magazine, Saturday morning cartoons with our favorite cereal. Now we can go nostalgia crazy with a stay in Dallas.
We can always use the moisture. No matter what the form of it is. I would prefer the rain over the snow. That is because here in Amarillo it is hardly ever just snow. We usually have the killer winds to go with it. Oh and more often than not we have the ice as well.
