‘Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension’ Trailer: Found Footage Goes 3D
The first three Paranormal Activity movies, released in successive years from 2009-2011, made over $577 million worldwide. The fourth movie made half what the previous film did, and the fifth, a Latin-American themed spinoff subtitled The Marked Ones, made even less than that. The film built up a complicated mythology and then seemed to abandon it all. The next, and reportedly final, Paranormal Activity movie will arrive in theaters this fall (in 3D, no less) and promises to reveal all the film’s secrets. Now you can watch the trailer for the latest installment and see if you still care.

‘The Lazarus Effect’ Review: This Resurrection Horror Thriller Should Have Stayed Dead
How many times in your life have you snuck up on someone and scared them? Three, maybe four times? The Lazarus Effect is the kind of horror movie where people do that constantly. It’s basically their standard greeting; instead of “Hello!” they jump on people from behind, sometimes while wearing pig masks. It doesn’t make much sense, but they’re not doing it because it’s logical — they’re doing it because this is a bargain basement horror film and you take the scares wherever you can get them.

‘Friday the 13th’ Sequel May Finally Explain Why Jason Voorhees Can’t Die
A Friday the 13th sequel has been in development ever since Platinum Dunes’ remake hit theaters in 2009. After Paramount dated and rescheduled (and rescheduled) the upcoming sequel, we finally appear to have a new Friday the 13th film hitting theaters in 2016 — the thing is, we haven’t heard much about it. Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller has revealed new details today — on Friday the 13th, naturally — about the upcoming sequel, why it’s taken so long and what we might expect from the project.

Freddy Krueger Is Responsible for Mark Hamill’s Casting in ‘Star Wars’
It's hard to imagine Luke Skywalker being played by anyone but Mark Hamill in the original 'Star Wars' trilogy, but it very well could have happened. And according to 'Nightmare on Elm Street' icon Robert Englund, better known to audiences as Freddy Krueger, it might not have happened at all had he not once told a teenage boy about the part after coming home from a failed 'Star Wars' audition himself.

‘Insidious: Chapter 3′ Trailer: Yep, That’s Definitely an ‘Insidious’ Movie
Although original director James Wan has left the franchise to move onto a little movie called 'Fast and Furious 7,' the 'Insidious: Chapter 3' trailer shows that this awesomely bonkers horror franchise is still in good hands. Series screenwriter Leigh Whannell is now in the director's chair and he definitely seems to have picked up a thing or two from his old collaborator.

Clever New IKEA Commercial Parodies Stanley Kubrick’s ‘The Shining’
We live in a world where commercial directors speak (and breathe and live) the same pop culture language as the people they've been hired to peddle all kinds of products to. The result: television advertisements have gotten more clever, more specific, and most importantly, more ready to become instant viral sensations on the internet. A new IKEA commercial, whose release in the chilly weeks of October is no coincidence, cleverly parodies one of the most famous horror movies of all time and it's pretty cool.

White Girls Be Trippin: A Supercut of Girls Falling in Horror Movies
No genre inspires as many cliches, both beloved and hated, as horror. Put on any random slasher movie while a horror buff is in the room and chances are strong that he'll be able to map out every moment, and every poor decision on the part of the main characters, a half hour in advance. However, that horror buff will also tell you that the predictability of it all can be a lot of fun.
