Back in May the Amarillo Police Department received a call that a truck and trailer were stolen from a parking log of a local motel.

The servicemen and women of our country make huge sacrifices to fight battles on our behalf and keep the freedoms we hold dear. One of those sacrifices is being away from their families and loved ones for long periods of time.

We often go day to day not realizing that we have super heroes here in our community.  They may not wear a cap and tights, but they save lives and protect our community.  This weekend, the Amarillo Venom is honoring these brave men and women.

The unthinkable happened when a family stopped in Amarillo for a night.

Christmas time is a time of family and friends.  However, sometimes our family and friends don't always get to come home for the Holidays.  That is especially true for our troops serving in the US Military.  They don't get to come home for Christmas.  However, we have a few soldiers who want to wish their family here in Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle a Merry Christmas.

We here at 98.7 Jack FM want to say thank you to our enlisted men and women, and their families, in the Amarillo area who sacrifice so much for all of us all year long. Now through Veterans Day - November 11th - we’re supporting “Townsquare Cares for Military Families.”
