October hardly qualifies as blockbuster season, but Denis Villeneuve will most likely change that when he unveils the long-murmured-about Blade Runner 2049 on the 6th of that month. He’s bringing all the buzz and gossip-mongering of the summer tentpole frenzy a few months later into the year, and the hype machine has gladly risen to meet him. Empire Magazine, that hallowed bastion of fan-boy and -girl culture, has stoked the flame with a glossy new cover story for Villeneuve’s latest this month, and the denizens of the internet will be pleased to know that they’ve publicized some of their exclusive new photos ahead of time.

It’s been 35 years since Ridley Scott’s original Blade Runner debuted and forever changed the landscape of science-fiction cinema. And 35 years later, the film is making an improbable comeback in theaters this fall in Blade Runner 2049, produced by Scott and directed by Denis Villeneuve. Harrison Ford returns to his role as Blade Runner Rick Deckard, with Ryan Gosling joining him as Officer K and Jared Leto playing himself (we think).

Hey Girl, You Think You Know Ryan Gosling?
If you’re a Ryan Gosling fan, you know that he catapulted to stardom in The Notebook. But did you know the director of the film, Nick Cassavetes, cast Gosling because he thought he was “the exact opposite” of his character? “You’re not handsome, you’re not cool,” Cassevetes told Gosling (according to Gosling). “You’re just a regular guy who looks a bit nuts.” Gosling wasn’t offended and took the part, and the rest is history. That’s just one of the cool facts featured in the newest episode of You Think You Know Movies!

After taking a bit of a break from acting to make his directorial debut (and to have what I presume is a very adorable baby with Eva Mendes), Ryan Gosling is back. SNL bounced back nicely from Donald Trump this past weekend with The Hunger Games star Elizabeth Banks, looking even bigger this coming Saturday with Matthew McConaughey and Adele, but December 2015 will really go all out. Our final three hosts of the year include Ryan Gosling, Chris Hemsworth (poor Liam), and best of all, a dual Sisters hosting with SNL alum Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

‘Man of Steel 2′ Seeking Older Batman, Casting Rumors Begin
It was announced at Comic-Con 2013 that the sequel to 'Man of Steel' will feature a Batman vs. Superman fight in the vein of Frank Miller's graphic novel 'The Dark Knight Returns,' so the big question is, of course, who will play Batman? The script for Zack Snyder's 'Man of Steel 2' is still being written, so it's a bit early for Warner Bros. to start meeting with prospective actors for the role,

‘Star Wars: Episode 7′ Rumor: Zac Efron and Ryan Gosling Are Contenders

But news has broken that Zac Efron and Ryan Gosling are being talked about for the film, and that Gosling is up for the role of Luke Skywalker's son.
