Remember that Ryan Reynolds 'Deadpool' movie? We haven't heard anything about it in over a year, but according to the actor, it's still happening. Sort of. Maybe? Reynolds seems optimistic, but we're still not quite sure we'll be seeing this thing anytime soon, judging by his account of the film's bumpy pre-production history.

Though Ryan Reynolds doesn't sing the theme song, 'R.I.P.D.' looks so much like 'Men in Black' it could almost be a remake. The latest featurette does look funny, but we wonder if the pitch was "What if the Men in Black were Ghostbusters?"

It's been months since we've heard anything about the plotted 'Highlander' reboot, which may explain why the latest news isn't that positive. Ryan Reynolds was slotted to play the lead but has now left the project.

This 'R.I.P.D.' trailer certainly seems to indicate that the supernatural buddy cop film is a lot like 'Men in Black' with a cranky Jeff Bridges standing in for a cranky Tommy Lee Jones and a wise-ass Ryan Reynolds filling in for a wise-ass Will Smith. If a new issue of Us Weekly is to be believed, the green-eyed monster has apparently consumed the lovely Scarlett Johansson. Seems Johansson’s ex-husband, the even lovelier Ryan Reynolds, has been keeping company with ‘Gossip Girl’ actress (and recent Leonardo DiCaprio castoff) Blake Lively — and Scarlett is none too pleased about it.

Could ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ be the surprise blockbuster of the summer? Critics certainly seem to think so. The James Franco vehicle, which serves as a reboot of the classic ‘Apes’ franchise, is receiving strong reviews thus far – or at least stronger than most had expected.

As expected, ‘Green Lantern’ was the number one movie at the box office this weekend, taking in a slightly underwhelming $52.7 million, according to weekend estimates. That number marks the lowest opening for a superhero movie this summer, behind ‘Thor’ ($66 million) ‘X-Men: First Class’ ($56 million).
