As a parent here in Amarillo you really have a tough job. I mean you have to provide everything for those precious children. There is the food, the shelter, the clothes just to name a few.
I say that but I like the fact that this is a hidden gem. Ok, maybe it is not hidden. I mean it's a park and it is in plain sight. I just don't think people take advantage of it as they should.
It really is important to our communities to have great parks for our families. It is such a blessing to have somewhere fun to take the kiddos. Who has not taken advantage of our city parks? I feel at one time or another we have either been a kid playing in one or having a child run up to a swing for that fun.
Amarillo doesn't seem like the place that you would really go out and start looking for pelicans. They are really not native to the Amarillo area. I love Amarillo and all but pelicans don't naturally decide Amarillo is the place to hang out.
