Basketball’s regular season play is winding down and coming to a close as we edge closer to March and the madness that it brings. This week, WTAMU Buffaloes will be taking on Texas A&M Commerce and Tarleton State before heading into tournament play.

Thursday, the Buffs take on The Texas A&M-Commerce Lions inside the A&M-Commerce Field House in Commerce, Texas. Texas A&M-Commerce is 18-7 on the season, and 10-6 in Lone Star Conference play.

The Lions are coming off a road loss to Tarleton State University.  Texas A&M-Commerce fought hard to get within a single possession in the last seconds of the game, overcoming a large deficit. For the Lions, it wouldn’t be enough and they fell 77-73 to Tarleton State last Tuesday.

WTAMU is heading into Thursday’s contest after dominating Angelo State on Senior Day. WTAMU ended the night with a 102-88 victory. They head into this week’s action tied with UT-Permian Basin for the top spot in the Lone Star Conference.

The Buffs are 24-2 overall on the season, and 14-2 in Lone Star Conference play after last week. After taking on Texas A&M-Commerce on Thursday, the Buffs look to Saturday when they will take on Tarleton State.

Tarleton State heads into this week’s action with the victory against Texas A&M-Commerce. Tarleton will host WTAMU inside the Wisdom Gym in Stephenville, Texas on Saturday.
