Amarillo Brace Yourself Before Going to This Grocery Store
Part of being an adult in Amarillo or really anywhere is making sure your family has groceries. That means a weekly stop at the grocery store. We end up having a favorite store to shop at and we usually do all of our shopping there.
We check the ads. We make a list. We head to the grocery store so we can start marking off each item as we put it in the cart. We know we are an adult when we have a list of meals we want to make. We have the list of ingredients now sitting in our shopping cart.
We get to where we know where everything is located. We can maneuver our way around the store. We know which aisle the bread is at. We know where to find the eggs. We can send the kids to the cereal aisle to grab their favorite box. We are pretty good at adulting.
Then we get thrown for a loop. The store is under a remodel. We have to admit it is really starting to look nice. All the new coolers now display the milk and cheese nicely. The store looks nice. It does.
In case you don't know what I am talking about Market Street on Georgia Street has been going through a change. A good kind. If you haven't been in a while take a deep breath. I am about to let you in on a little secret.
They are moving things around. You may notice some empty shelves. Some days the aisle signs don't necessarily match what is being placed in that aisle. That will all change. Everything will be where it needs to be. The signs will match up. It's just a process they are going through.
The staff is very nice and helps point you in the right direction if you can't find something. They are learning too where everything is now. They have not moved the bread, yet. That move several years back still haunts me.
A friend recently made a trip to Market Street while all of these changes have been going on. It led her to send me a text with her frustrations.
Being an adult can be tough when you move around everything in a store that you love. I am here to say It will be ok, though. Just give it some time and you will again be an expert.
