Remember when we told you about Nell? Nell was about to turn 100 and was hoping to receive 100 birthday cards.

She got five times that, and a lot of gifts from around the world.

In an update on the Brookdale Sleepy Hollow Facebook page, they shared the awesome news that Nell received over five hundred birthday cards from around the world. She also received a lot of specialty tea, flowers, books, and other gifts.

You can check out all of the photos below.

I had originally written about the post on Facebook from Bookdale Sleepy Hollow in Amarillo where they asked for people to send in birthday cards, hoping for at least 100.

That Facebook post about Nell was shared well over 500 times. People began telling stories about having her as a teacher, mentor, and friend.

While it seems like the vast majority of news right now is negative and divisive, it's nice to see stories like this. Even with all of the uncertainty most of us are living in right now, there are still some positive things taking place in the world.

Since we're talking about birthdays, don't forget to be looking for us in your neighborhood. We've teamed up with all of our sister stations at Townsquare Media to do birthday parades, pretty much seven days a week.

We'll drive by your house, make a lot of noise, and make sure everyone on the block knows it's your special day.
