If you've seen the movie Bomb City and remember the character Oles, then you remember Eddie Hassell. Today, news came out that Eddie has died at the age of 30.
According to news reports, he was shot. Police believe it was a possible carjacking. The shooting took place in the Dallas suburb of Grand Prairie outside of his girlfriend's apartment.
Also according to news reports, the shooting happened on Sunday morning.
Eddie Hassell was in "The Kids Are Alright," which was nominated for an Oscar. He appeared several times on the NBC series "Surface." He also appeared several times on the series "Devious Maids".
He also had roles in the movies 2012 (he played a surfer), and Jobs; the film about Steve Jobs starring Ashton Kutcher. In the Steve Jobs biopic, he played the role of Chris Espinosa.
According to his bio on IMDB, Eddie was born in Corsicana. He moved to LA at a young age to pursue a career in film.
The police are reportedly still looking for information regarding the shooting. They have been asking the public to help them in identifying the suspect.
Bomb City is the movie that came out in 2017 based on the Brian Deneke story.
Our hearts break for Eddie's family, friends, and fans. It is a tragic blow in an already tough year. Hopefully soon the individual responsible will be found, and justice will be served.
