It seemed like all that was in the news last week was the winter storm, or "Snowpocalypse 2021" as I like to call it. Negative wind chills, half a foot of snow, frost bite, and treacherous roads were the the buzz phrases of the week.

This one was taken at the Embassy Suites in downtown Amarillo. It's probably my favorite photo from the weekend. There's just something about a fountain that's frozen over that looks really cool, no pun intended.

Dan sent in this photo of Windsor Elementary. All of that snow would be beautiful if it wasn't so freaking cold outside. Hard to enjoy a winter scene when you lose feeling in your feet.

This photo was sent to me by a friend of mine living in Oklahoma City That's his decorative yard light. As bad as things got here, they got absolutely pummeled. When he took that photo snow was still coming down.

This was an interesting snow drift. The snow was deep enough to swallow my foot, but nothing like what I was expecting based off of the forecasts from last week.

While the snow may not be falling any more, that doesn't mean we're completely out of the woods. Today, we all woke up to the news about rolling blackouts across Texas.

Be sure you have a plan if the power goes out so that you stay warm and stay safe.

TIPS: Here's how you can prepare for power outages
