Craving Sliders? White Castle Announces First Texas Location

When I moved to the Amarillo area, I didn't realize how much I would miss one restaurant from my then-home of Chicago. I was young, but I just remembered going to White Castle on a Sunday and our family getting bags of sliders.

Never in a million years did I realize moving away would leave me in a slider drought. There would not be another slider in my life until I went back to Chicago in the early nineties. Back then, it was uncommon to find a White Castle unless you lived north of the Mississippi River.

Then it became a thing that you could buy sliders in the frozen aisle of the grocery store. Not as great as getting one in person, but it would do. Then it seemed that White Castle started exploding.

The Long Wait for White Castle in Texas

Maybe 'exploding' is a bit much, but they did get a couple of locations in Arizona. There are a couple in Las Vegas, too. You can find one on the Strip. Having a location come to Texas seemed like an impossibility.

Until I saw the news recently. Texas is, in fact, getting a White Castle. Maybe it was all the love that White Castle received thanks to Harold and Kumar, but whatever it was, this news is real.

Where the First Texas Location Will Open

There are currently 345 White Castles in existence, but none in Texas until the summer of 2026. They are coming to The Colonies, which is great. Texas is finally going to get a real experience with White Castle and the famous sliders.

I had to check. I didn't know if I was going to like the answer, but since my daughter used to live in the Dallas area, how far is the new White Castle going to be from her old apartment in Lewisville? Only a sixteen-minute drive.

Could More White Castles Be Coming?

That is nothing. A drive we used to make to take my granddaughter to Cheeky Monkey. They are now getting a White Castle, and the daughter lives here. Yes, the pain is real. I am excited, though, one White Castle could mean more down the road.

We got a Long John Silver's now. If we could only get a White Castle or a Jack in the Box.
