I'll be honest. Usually when local government offices, educators, authority figures....my parents...try to get in on the latest fads, it ends up being cringe inducing embarrassment fuel. However, I have to tip my hat to the City of Canyon.

Have you see the City of Canyon Wastewater Department's Spotify playlist about flushing?

The City Of Canyon Has Struck Spotify Playlist Gold

In case you haven't seen or heard of this, people are getting really creative with their Spotify playlists. It's a pretty simple premise, but the execution has to be spot on.

First, you ask a question or come up with a theme. Then, you answer that question using song titles. If you decided on a theme, you do the same thing. Fill the playlist with funny titles that fit the theme.

It sounds simple, but it's really easy to mess up. I've seen some promising ones that just wound up being horrible.

The City of Canyon Wastewater Department knocked theirs out of the park.

A Fun Loving Reminder On The Types Of Things You Shouldn't Flush

The playlist is titled "Can't Flush This" and it's gold. Pure gold.

The song titles are all things we should know better than to send down the porcelain wormhole. For example, tampons. Yeah. The song "100 Tampons" made the list. Know why? You shouldn't flush them.

As a big Tom Waits fan, I was beyond thrilled to see that they included a track from my absolute favorite Waits album, Nighthawks At The Diner.

What Tom Waits tune could they have picked? They picked the classic "Eggs And Sausage (In A Cadillac With Susan Michelson)," which I believe you technically shouldn't flush either.

Other highlights include "Paper Towels," and of course "Cotton Pads."

The playlist is hilarious, and honestly not that bad. It spans a variety of genres and eras. Also, it's a great reference before you go flushing something other than the usual suspects...if you know what I mean.

Someone really put some effort into this one. You can check it out here.

Say You're From Amarillo Without Saying You're From Amarillo

Amarillo is a pretty quirky place. We've got the Big Texan, the weird signs, and (obviously) the famed Cadillac Ranch. But more than that, there's a distinct culture of close-knit community, eccentrics, a thriving arts scene, and much more.

The point is, living in Amarillo is a unique experience. Because of that, it's really pretty easy to tell who's a native or a long-time resident. And I can prove it.

Here's a couple of ways you can say you're from Amarillo.....without saying you're from Amarillo.

Your Answers For "What's That Unidentified Amarillo Object?"

The photo of "that one creepy thing" at the Amarillo Zoo has gone viral. While we don't know exactly what it is (and have a healthy dose of skepticism), some of these answers to "what the heck is this?" have us rolling.

Here's the best answers that were left in the comment section of our June 8 post on this Unidentified Amarillo Object.
