First things first, you won't be buying a Long John's. This building's days of serving up sides of "crunchies" are long behind it. Basically, you'd be buying the husk of what once held a Long John Silver's.

Second, you need to know that it's up for auction. If there are a lot of Long John fanatics looking at this, the price could theoretically get a little hefty.

Still, if you're one of the devoted it might be worth looking at.

The property is at 7145 Bell Street. Bidding starts on Nov 27, at $50,000. It's being advertised as a redevelopment opportunity.

Judging from the photo in the listing, there's emphasis on redevelopment. The building is going to probably need a little tender love and care. What's really great about it, is that while it lacks any Long John Silver's signage, you can't mistake the building.

It has the undeniable look of a Long John Silver's as we all grew up knowing them. The big windows, the entrance and exit flanking either side, and the aesthetic of something that belongs near a pier more than in the panhandle are all intact.

You can see the listing and get all of the details at this link. Good luck to any Long John Silver's fans who decide to enter the fray.
