5 Fast Food Restaurants We Need In Amarillo

Restaurants are not something we lack here in Amarillo. Sit-down types or fast food, we've got plenty of options to choose from in the city. The funny thing is, they keep opening new ones around the city, but it seems to be much of the same. Second, third, and fourth locations of the same places we already have.

There are places people in the city are screaming for to re-open, I'm looking at you Long John Silver's, and some that we've never seen in the city. Well, I'm going to chime in with some places I'd like to see open up in Amarillo.

I'll stay away from saying In-N-Out because I don't feel like getting dragged today...but I'm not saying I wouldn't mind seeing one. Here are some other options I'd love to see pop up in the city.

CULVER'S

If you've never had a butter burger from Culver's, you are SO missing out. Those burgers are some of the juiciest fast-food burgers I've ever had. Aside from that, their pork tenderloin is delicious. So big they don't have a bun that can cover the whole thing, and that's how it's supposed to be made.

Crinkle-cut french fries which always seem to taste better than just about any fry out there. Man, get me a Culver's in the city STAT!

TACO CABANA

Ok, I know we have a lot of different options in the Mexican fast food world, but as much as I love them all, Taco Cabana just can't be touched. Everything you get is fresh, I mean you can see them making the tortillas they use right there.

If you're looking for an item to devour on their menu, get the Chicken Flautas and dip them in either guacamole or queso. Sooooooo good.

HAWAIIAN BROS ISLAND GRILL

I had never heard of this place until it opened up shortly before we moved away from Austin. We ate there several times before we left, and I gotta tell you I miss it dearly. I always got either the Huli Huli Chicken plate which is an island-infused Teriyaki chicken, or the Honolulu Chicken which was a more savory plate.

The best part about this place? They've got Dole Whip. If you don't know, look it up. If you do know, well, you know.

JACK IN THE BOX

So from my understanding, JIB used to be here in Amarillo. What happened? Is there a market to bring it back? I think so, and if they do, I'll be the first one in line to load up on those tacos. I don't know what it is, but there is something about those tacos that is ridiculously addicting.

WHITE CASTLE

I've heard the arguments. "White Castle is only good after a night out with your friends". Well, I respectfully disagree. Those little, almost, bite-sized burgers with the little onions and a little cheese on them? It's like eating a bag of chips for me, put a plate of 15 of them in front of me and I'm liable to crush them all.

Remember those crinkle-cut fries I mentioned above about Culver's? Well, White Castle has them too, and they are delicious.
