Why a Quarterly Beauty Box Is My Favorite Guilty Pleasure

Life can get chaotic, and it gets crazy. You’re going, going, going, and it isn't slowing down. Sometimes you just need a simple pleasure in life.

Why I Love My Quarterly Beauty Box

One of my personal guilty pleasures is that once a quarter I get a beauty box. It's a box full of beauty samples and, on occasion, full-size products. I look forward to this thing every single season because I never know what I’m gonna get in it. Sometimes it’s full of junk; other times it’s full of products that I actually fall in love with, and sometimes it's a little bit of both. That's usually the whole point of these beauty boxes, but I love getting mine.

What Was in My Fall Beauty Box?

I'm a basic type of girl. I don't wear a ton of makeup. I usually stick to drugstore brands. Sometimes I splurge on my skincare, but that's about it.  That's why I enjoy this delivery. Yeah, I pay for it, but it’s just shipping and handling. It’s really not that much. This month, I got a new brand of whitening strips. They look more natural, and the brand is called GuruNanda. I love whitening strips. I use them on my teeth all the time. I can't wait to try them. The last ones I got were coconut-oil-based and didn't taste horrible.  Hopefully these will be good.

Trying Fake Eyelashes for the First Time

I also got a sample of eyelashes. I don’t wear fake eyelashes. I wouldn't go out and buy fake eyelashes, but since I got this in my fall box, I can try them out. I'll spend an hour figuring out how to put them on, and I will wear them out on the town one night. Who knows, maybe I’ll fall in love with them and become an eyelash girl.

Body Mist and Hair Mask Samples

There's also a body mist in this box. It's a new smell, a smell I would probably never try.  Who knows, maybe it will become a favorite of mine. I also get to try out a new hair mask. They must’ve known my hair took a beating over the summer, and it’s time to put something on it to give it a little refresher.

What Is Your Guilty Pleasure?

Again, this box is just a simple little guilty pleasure in my life. What is your guilty pleasure? What are the things you do for yourself that just put a smile on your face and kind of pull you away from the everyday go-go-go and stress? Maybe it’s a beauty box. Maybe it’s your favorite food. Maybe it’s a pint of the latest flavor of Blue Bell ice cream. Whatever it is, as long as it’s making you happy, then of course it is well worth it.

Every three months, a colorful box that shows up in my mailbox makes me happier than happy. Excuse me while I go whiten my teeth, mask my hair, glue on some eyelashes, and slather myself in moisturizer, top it off with a fall body mist, while I eat a pint of Blue Bell. It's my happy place.
