Need Tax Return Help? Amarillo Public Library Has Free Consultations.
It's the most wonderf...wait, let's rephrase that. It's the most anxious time of the year. We could also go with it's the most plentiful time of the year.
Really it all comes down to what your situation is when it comes to filing taxes. Are you one of the lucky ones that get a refund? Do you end up owing each year?
Regardless of which one it is for you, it's a stressful time for most people. Tax season. When it comes to doing and filing taxes, there are so many different ways people go about it. Personally, I keep it as simple as possible. I take my W2, pop it into TurboTax and I'm done.
There are those who go waist-deep in getting as many possible deductions as they can get. Saving receipts from almost every purchase they made during the year and seeing if they can really stick it to Uncle Sam.
I remember trying to do that one year, and at the end of the day, I started to worry about getting audited by the IRS, so even after all that work, I went the simple route. Maybe I should've just taken them to a tax professional and let them do it.
The problem with that is it typically costs well into the triple digits to do that, and I didn't want that much of my return going to someone else. It's tricky, right?
Now there's a way for you to understand how to go about your tax return, and it's right here in Amarillo.
