Calling all beer drinkers and partiers in general. Oktoberfest is closer than you think in Amarillo, and we don't just settle in with one event.

Around the city, we've already had several events announced that are wrapped around Oktoberfest, and it's all because Amarillo loves its beer.

If you've never been to a true Oktoberfest, you're missing out. So many different beers to try out, and some great food if they do it right.

Bratwursts, turkey legs people dressed up, and just a jovial atmosphere make Oktoberfest events some of the best during any part of the year. So let's not sit here and just talk about it, let's start planning for all the events coming up.

WILDFLOWER EVENTS OKTOBERFEST

Here's the one that will get us all kicked off, and they aren't even waiting for October to hit on the calendar.

Taking place at the Derrick Events Center on September 21st, this one is an incredibly good value when you compare ticket price to what you get.

For just $25, you're getting yourself two beers, a bratwurst, and a turkey leg. I don't know a lot of events that package everything together like that, but you're getting it all at a phenomenal price.

There will be a beer garden, plenty of different vendors, live music, and more food than what you're getting with your ticket price. You'll see me there for sure.

VOLKSFEST AT PONDASETA BREWING

It wouldn't be Oktoberfest if Pondaseta Brewing wasn't getting themselves involved. On October 5, Volksfest will take place at the brewery.

Loaded up with all sorts of different games to play, live music, plenty of German food specials, and yes, beer. In fact, they'll have Volksbier available!

AMARILLO'S OKTOBERFEST

Things get a little tricky here as one of the biggest Oktoberfest events in Amarillo will also be taking place on October 5th, so you'll want to plan this day carefully.

Out at Starlight Ranch Events Center, it's the "official" (if that's what you want to call it) Oktoberfest event for the city. The party kicks off at 4 pm, so feasibly you should be able to start the day at Pondaseta and finish it here.

With all the space Starlight Ranch has to offer, you're sure to find many different types of beer in what will surely be a massive beer garden. Couple that with plenty of live music, a first class German dinner that will whet your appetite, and for some entertainment, there will be a Dachshund race.

Tickets and all the info you need for the event are available on the Starlight Ranch website.
