Beyond the TV: Why This Amarillo Class is a Must for New Babysitters
It's hard to believe that the kids of Amarillo are about to be out of school. Some of the kids will go to camps and find stuff to do around the house to keep them entertained. Then there are those young entrepreneurs who look to stay busy and make some money.
One of the first jobs a lot of us had growing up was babysitting. It's a great way to learn the responsibilities of working and the fun of making your own money. You can choose to babysit on date nights so the parents can get out.
You may choose to really make some money for a special purchase and choose to watch kids during the day while the parents are working. Either way is a great first step to the workforce.

I know when I babysat, I didn't have any real training. I was given a list of important numbers on the fridge and a bedtime for the kids. When my daughter got near the babysitting age, I signed her up for a babysitting class.
That is something that is still offered and really does help a young, early teen feel a little more confident stepping up to be in charge. Amarillo Parks and Recreation is helping babysitters get a step ahead of the rest by equipping them with the skills they may need while babysitting.
