TMZ is reporting that Paxton suffered a sudden, fatal stroke after undergoing heart surgery, though that information was not confirmed in a release made by family representatives:
A loving husband and father, Bill began his career in Hollywood working on films in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker. Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable. A Texas native, Paxton has an incredible list of films and TV shows to his name, the most prominent of which were 1995's Twister, 1995's Apollo 13, 1997's Titanic, and the HBO series Big Love. He also had notable roles in big hits like Tombstone, Predator 2, Aliens, Terminator, and True Lies, among many others.
Paxton's career stretches back to the mid 1970s, though most recently, he had re-teamed with Apollo 13 co-star Tom Hanks for a sci-fi film called The Circle, which is due in theaters this April.. He was also appearing in the CBS show Training Day. Paxton was a favorite of director James Cameron -- Paxton was once quoted as saying that Cameron has "more integrity than anyone I ever met in my life."
He leaves behind his wife and two children.
