3 Things At The Tri-State Fair That Look Interesting…From An Outsider
So the concept of a rodeo/fair isn't something new to me. Not by a longshot.
In fact, when I lived in Colorado I was constantly a part of two of the biggest rodeo/fair events known, the Greeley Stampede and Cheyenne Frontier Days.
So when I first heard about the Tri-State Fair & Rodeo here, I figured it would be nothing new to me. Then I started looking at some of the events and was rather intrigued by a few that I've never seen on a schedule before.
MILKING DEMONSTRATION
I gotta be real with you on this one. I never thought I'd actually be intrigued by a demonstration on...milking. It's not a skill that I plan to put to use anytime soon, nor have I ever thought about how the process could be interesting. For some reason though, I feel myself wildly drawn to finding one of these milking demonstrations. Will I learn where the milk is produced? Where it comes from? Why they pull on utters to make it come out? I don't know, but I'm ready to find out.
BOER GOAT SHOW
What on earth is a goat show? I mean, are they going to do tricks like it's a dog show? Do they groom and primp these goats to make them look fluffy like it's a dog show? I know I keep referencing a dog show, but that's all I can think of when I hear show. Maybe it's a goat auction but with a fancy name? Bottom line is this, I HAVE to attend this one because I have to confirm (or not confirm) what I keep thinking this is in my head.
BIG DOG CONCESSIONS
So naturally I had to look at the names of the food vendors that were going to be there. I mean after all, a fair is known for it's different, off the wall types of food. Deep fried candy bars and cookies, chicken on a stick, etc. are staples. With the crazy concoctions found at a fair, I couldn't help but be drawn to Big Dog Concessions. Now my hope here is that they serve up a bunch of different types of hot dogs, but in ways you've never experienced them before. I'm such a hot dog fanatic that if this is what I think it is, you'll find me over here for dinner for each day of the fair.
There's so much more that I can't wait to experience, because I'm only scratching the surface of things I never thought were a thing at a fair. You can get the full list of events here.
