Amarillo sure has a love affair with their murals. Since they have started to pop up all over town we have certainly taken notice. I mean all over town. You can find them in downtown Amarillo.

You can find them near the mall. Even schools are taking part in the bright colors and designs. They are even starting to creep up in Canyon too. Murals have become a big part of our city.

We have festivals to promote our new murals. We celebrate this great art. It used to be graffiti when someone painted on a wall. Now these are thought out art and people look for great artists to make them happen. What a world we live in.

It's fun to watch and see where they will pop up next.

When you think about a place that caters to kids and families you think fun. You think bright colors. It just makes sense to think of murals to make your boutique stand out would be just what is needed. That is what happened when Nicole moved her shop a few blocks away.

CB Boutique moved to 2820 Virgina Circle after years of being on Civic Circle. They got a much bigger area and wanted to stand out. They wanted this boutique somewhere where kids and families would want to come and take photos.

They added murals. With that, they enlisted the help of local artist, Jacob Morin. Now Jacob and Nicole don't really remember how it happened. Who reached out to who about working on the past boutique?

They just know it started with Jacob painting a quote in the former location. Neither one could even tell you what the quote was. They laugh about it now. It just led to Jacob being the one to do most of the work at the new location.

Oh and the work he has done. Jacob even has done an interview with PBS.

When talking with Jacob I asked him about the murals at CB Boutique:

I am here to help whomever I can however I can with any mural they come up with in their imagination and CB Boutique is the perfect example. All the designs came from Nicole's imagination and color swatches etc. I led her to my graphic artist to help with the Mario mural.

If you haven't checked out all the local work done at CB Boutique you need to. They encourage people to come take photos. Nicole said the Mario Bros. mural is perfect for Halloween. There are a lot of kids that dress up as Mario. So she encourages all the foot traffic and photo opportunities.

There is still another area which Nicole said that Jacob has free reign to do whatever he wants with it. I can't wait to see what design he comes up with.
