It is finally time for a new restaurant to open here in Amarillo. This is one that I heard about last year. Anyone who loves seafood will have another place to add to their list of places to try.

We do get really excited about our new restaurants. That is one thing I notice about us. We are foodies. We love to get behind a great new restaurant. So of course when there is a grand opening that is great news for our area.

The Catch - 5900 SW 45th has finally received their opening date. There was a little delay waiting on getting their inspections but the wait is finally over. They plan on opening tomorrow at 10am.

Looking over the MENU they have a variety of Po' Boys, tacos, and seafood plates. They also offer crab legs and crawfish. I am excited to get new choices for sea food here in Amarillo. There once was a time that Red Lobster was the only option. Now Amarillo is growing with tons of places.

I get it finding good seafood is tough in a place like Amarillo. I mean we do not have an ocean just down the street from us. That would be a dream come true. We, though, are finally getting some quality places.

I also like a place that has a good selection of appetizers. The Catch does seem like a good place to get starters. You can try their fried green tomatoes, those look pretty good. I am usually a fan of fried pickles and they have those too.

Oh and the oysters too. I will have to admit that I am excited to try theirs. So the wait is over. If you want to add another place to try for good seafood. The buzz has been pretty high on Facebook on the Amarillo restaurant pages and such. I am interested to see what I think. I would love to hear your feedback too.

Say You're From Amarillo Without Saying You're From Amarillo

Amarillo is a pretty quirky place. We've got the Big Texan, the weird signs, and (obviously) the famed Cadillac Ranch. But more than that, there's a distinct culture of close-knit community, eccentrics, a thriving arts scene, and much more.

The point is, living in Amarillo is a unique experience. Because of that, it's really pretty easy to tell who's a native or a long-time resident. And I can prove it.

Here's a couple of ways you can say you're from Amarillo.....without saying you're from Amarillo.
